Philipsen: “Being on the podium is a privilege”

Albert Withen Philipsen (Lidl-Trek): “The feeling is super good. I’m really, really happy to finish the season off well. Of course it would have been nice to end this season with a win but being on the podium with guys like these is really a privilege and I feel super happy just to be in the mix and be able to ride in the final. It's super hard in a finish like this to have the overview and also to see where your teammates are, but it was good that that both me and (Mathias) Vacek were there almost until the final. Then I think there was a bit of a gap on the last kick where (Christophe) Laporte went. I tried not to pull in the start to see if he (Vacek) could get up, but then we had to turn to close in on the two guys in the front.”
