The "classic of the falling leaves" has also changed its colours. Last year's transformation into the classic of the grape harvest took it onto the rough vineyard tracks that now make up its final section and lengthened the odds against the usual bunch sprint on Avenue de Grammont. The Danish cyclist Søren Kragh Andersen inaugurated this new era with a solo win, and there is no doubt that fortune will again favour the bold this autumn. Tours Métropole Val de Loire, a partner of the race since 2004, is delighted to again put the spotlight on the local wine-making heritage. Partnering up with a popular event with an international outreach fits our approach like a glove. For us, sport is a cornerstone of well-being and development. Tours Métropole Val de Loire stands behind the stakeholders of sport, offering them its backing and building inclusive sports facilities. The aim is threefold, enabling its 300,000 inhabitants to easily practise sport, support their top-flight teams and live great sporting experiences, with Paris–Tours as one of the foremost examples.
